Sabine F.
MUSANGE, MD is an Assistant Lecturer in the Department of Health
Economics at the School of Public Health at the National University of
Rwanda. Dr. Musange graduated in 2005 from the Faculty of Medicine at
the National University of Rwanda with a thesis titled “Evaluation of
the Mutual Insurance Premium Necessary to Cover Costs in Health Centers
and the District Hospital: Case Study of Kabutare Health District”.
Before joining the School of Public Health, Dr. Musange worked as a
General Practitioner caring for people living with HIV/AIDS at the
Remera-Rukoma District Hospital. Dr. Musange is interested
in Health System and Health Financing and the analysis of the
cost-benefits and cost-effectiveness of health programs. Dr.
Musange has participated in many research activities conducted by the
School of Public Health, including studies on the costing of health
services, an impact evaluation of the Rwandan Performance-Based
Financing system, and an assessment of Rwanda’s progress towards the
Millennium Development Goals using UNICEF’s Marginal Budgeting for
Bottleneck (MBB) approach. Dr. Musange is currently a member of the
National Health Account (NHA) technical team.
